Hello

I'm a beauty journalist blogging about what really works from cosmetics to cosmetic surgery.

DERMAOIL

DERMAOIL

Plant-based oil with a multitude of beauty benefits: Dermaoil

What is it?  It's a multi-use skin repair and anti-stretch mark vegetable-based oil (£14.99, bioconcepts.co.uk) containing a unique blend of quite a number of oils including sunflower seed, jojoba seed, macadamia and argan.

What’s the USP? It contains Collageneer, a patented active ingredient derived from lupin seeds which has the ability to increase collagen synthesis in the skin. Used regularly - ie twice a day, for three months - it has been clinically proven to increase the firmness and elasticity of the skin - and helps to reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone, scars and stretch marks.

How new is it?
Just launched in October this year.

I’d say... that you definitely need one of these in your bathroom cabinet. It's a lovely, light oil that leaves no  greasy residue and has a gentle, barely-there smell. Even more surprisingly and usefully, it's recommended for use all over the body, from the eyelids (yes) to the stomach, legs, chin, hands and neck. It doesn't suggest it on the packaging, but I bet it would be good on your hair, too. A real cracker.
