Hello

I'm a beauty journalist blogging about what really works from cosmetics to cosmetic surgery.

HUMBLE

HUMBLE

by Karen Heath

Just lovely.

“I’ve looked everywhere for a range of products that are natural and biodegradable, but, just as importantly, look, smell and feel wonderful to use. I drew a blank so I decided to develop a range of products myself. It’s been a challenge but I am delighted to now be launching the Humble Natural Beauty Range." Kate Humble, Founder, Humble.

These words are something that, since starting this blog and blogging some 400 plus new brands, Alice and I have heard over and over again from new brand founders, particularly about products that those founders perceive to be ‘natural’, and of course even celebrities are not immune. (Alice always says rather sharply that said founders clearly didn't look very far, given how the UK market for skincare and bath-and-body products is utterly saturated with brands of every description, particularly 'natural'.) However this shouldn’t detract from the fact that Humble is a lovely, beautifully packaged bath and body collection.

The range comprises a hand wash, hand lotion, intense hand cream, body lotion and body wash in two fragrances inspired by Kate’s love of the countryside and her farm in Monmouthshire. It was also important to Kate that all the ingredients are sustainably sourced and environmentally friendly. Big plus for that.

We were sent a couple of products to try, including the rather delicious Rose and Frankincense bath honey, and apart from finding the wide neck bottle a little annoying as it’s easy to pour too much product accidentally into the bath (and at £12 for 300ml you don’t want to waste a drop), we reckon it's a lovely spot of affordable luxury.

The range launched in August in Waitrose with prices starting at £8.
